Bringing New Life to Zaui.com: Why it was Time for a Makeover
If you speak to anyone on the team, you’ll know the site has been a long time coming. In the past year, we’ve prioritized this as a project upon recognizing the need to deliver a marketing site that was representative of what Zaui can bring to the table in 2021 (and beyond), while equally providing visitors with the value they need when researching a solution that works best for their tourism business.

As the saying goes, out with the old in with the new.
We’ve been working with tour, activity and transport operators, helping them run their business seamlessly for well over two decades. And while our current site did its job, design and copy-wise, it was inconsistent, crowded with information and worst of all—difficult to update and maintain.
For a while, we felt stuck with a look and feel that didn’t exactly represent our brand, product, and people. It was high time we gave ourselves a makeover reflecting the growth and challenges we’ve overcome over the past few years, especially in 2020.
To help us along the process, we engaged with Tiller Digital, Calgary-based web development and design agency specialized in working with tech brands, to help us rebuild an entirely new website experience from the ground up.

Spanking New Look and Feel
We improved the usability and accessibility of the website with a simple and elegant design backed up by clear, bold typography and a confident colour palette, true to our Pacific Northwestern roots.
The Zaui Blue, the colour of trust, loyalty, and responsibility, has always been a classic. Even through all these years, it's been one that stuck with us and still arguably best represents us.
Staying true to Zaui Blue, we updated our colour palette, embracing a soothing look and feel. We also lean into our secondary colour palette—green accents and a primary orange, topped with a pinch of fun and punchiness. It’s also been useful to draw attention to the various calls to action across the pages.
Along with an updated colour palette, it was also time for a font that lined up with Zaui’s visual identity 2021.  We settled on Graphik, a san serif font to give us the clean, bold, and polished look we felt best exemplified us.
The animation and scroll elements were a design choice we knew we needed to include. Static just wouldn’t cut it. We opted for a homepage headline that’s animated and would engage our site visitors and clearly show them who we serve.
One of our favourite finishing touches is creative, illustrative flourishes that have been subtly added to each page. Those who love everything about travel won’t miss the postcards and scrapbook tape on our website. These additions instantly connect with people aligned with the travel and tourism industry and evoke a sense of wanderlust.

Information overload is one big pet peeve. We hear you.
That’s why we worked on building clear and responsive navigation to give tour and transport operators better, easy access to content. With easy-to-follow navigation and page layout, it will be a breeze to locate key booking management resources and relevant information specific to your industry.

No. Zaui’s pricing is fully pay-as-you-go. You aren’t locked into any long-term contract. In fact, leading platforms emphasize this flexibility. Similarly, Zaui lets you start and stop anytime. You can change or cancel your plan freely, so you only pay for what you use.
Absolutely not. Zaui’s pricing is 100% transparent. We disclose all fees up front with no surprise add-ons or “sneak-in” charges. In fact, Zaui’s plans include all core features “without additional fees”. Industry experts note that hidden fees undermine trust so we avoid them entirely. All costs are clearly outlined in our pricing, and there are no extra setup charges or undisclosed surcharges at checkout.
Zaui integrates with major payment gateways (e.g. Stripe) so you only pay standard credit-card processing rates (roughly 1.9%+$0.30/transaction) and we don’t mark them up. Only the published platform commission is added on bookings. You also have full control over who pays the commission, we let you decide whether to absorb booking fees or pass them on to customers. In short, you’ll only pay the transparent booking commission and normal gateway fees, nothing extra.

You won’t pay extra for training or service other than the onboarding fee; it's all built into your plan.

No. Zaui does not charge its commission on offline/manual bookings. “No fees on offline bookings” You only pay the commission when a booking is processed online through our system. Manual reservations (or bookings from partner channels we set up for you) incur no extra platform fee. (30% or less)
All of Zaui’s core features are included in your plan at no extra charge. We believe in value and transparency: Zaui provides over 15 advanced features (Google Things to do, reporting tools, marketing tools, reports, etc.) at no additional cost. Many competitors charge extra or require higher plans for the same features, but with Zaui you get the full suite of tools in one package. Any optional add-ons (if any) will always be clearly listed and optional there are no surprise paid upgrades for standard features.
