Zaui Software release free mobile booking engine, world-wide, for all customers

VANCOUVER, BC (May 10, 2012) – Zaui Software Ltd, leaders in web based tour and management software, announces the launch of its dedicated mobile site for all of its clients worldwide. This mobile application allows its customers to search for transportation, sightseeing, park admissions, merchandise products and book direct on any mobile device.

The mobile site is a replica of an existing Zaui customers website but has been simplified to allow for fast and easy booking and also gives the customer the ability to purchase multiple products all at once.

A new survey underlines the growing importance of mobile for travel firms, with 17% of UK consumers having used mobile to research holidays in the last 12 months. This is according to Tealeaf’s 2011 ebooker report (registration required), which surveyed around 2,000 UK consumers.
Of the 2,000 respondents to the survey, 45% said they own a mobile device that allows them to browse the internet.
Of these, in the last 12 months:

•  17% have researched a holiday on a mobile app or mobile website.
• 3% have booked their holiday on mobile.
• 12% have downloaded a mobile app related to travel.
• 8% have used an app to research a holiday.
• 14% that have used a mobile website to conduct research.

Well  a new PhoCusWright report, Mobile Hits the Mainstream:  Technology and Industry Trends  provides the numbers of the size and dynamics of the use of mobile in the travel market place.

At Zaui Software, our engineers, love numbers and analytics.  What is for certain are the numbers in this report.  The US mobile leisure bookings in 2011 reached $2.6 billion, and while that might only represent 2.4 % of the online travel market in the US, by the end of 2013 these numbers are expected to grow by 3.9% topping out at 6.5% and expected to exceed $8 billion online travel related product sales.

New/Enhanced Menu system

• We have moved to new menu system allowing for user customization coming in the future;  user access control lists

New Calendars

• update to all calendars used in Zaui, including those in the back office and online system
• multiple month calendaring system

Bar Codes

• as Zaui moves towards its plans for mobile implementation, m-ticketing and e-ticketing, we have first introduced bar codes in the system to be used on vouchers, tickets and boarding passes.

Qr Codes

• if your not already aware of what QR Codes are, here is a quick 2 minute elevator speech:  a Quick Response Code, or QR Code, is a specific matrix barcode that is readable by dedicated readers and camera phones.
• Zaui will now allow you to automatically generate QR codes for each activity/product/package that you have generated in your system, driving traffic to your online booking system, through the QR Code.

Zaui Software LAUNCHES VERSION 3.0 CALLED ‘SEQUOIA’ , IT’S AIRPORT SHUTTLE, AND ACTIVITY / TOUR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

VANCOUVER, BC (April 11 2011) – Zaui Software Ltd. today announced the immediate availability of Zaui 3.0, the latest version of the company’s online, web-based airport shuttle and activity / tour management system.  With the release of Zaui 3.0 users are provided a unique set of tools and features designed to speed-up back office work-flow, as well as increase online sales direct to consumer.

“One of the most vital components in our development cycle and the product life cycle for Zaui, is our customers valued input.”, says Kory Fawcett, chief software architect at Zaui Software. “Over the past twelve months we deployed a new support system allowing our customers a communication conduit direct to our staff. Interested in being able to drag and drop guest reservations from one time slot to another?

Dragging and dropping is the action of selecting one guest, and moving them to a different location, within Zaui.

Well have just completed some major changes to the “interval activities” time slot scheduling screen allowing you to drag and drop guests within an activity, changing their activity times.

For those of you either not using “interval activities” or looking for more information on what this activity is best suited for, then have a read of this article.

Historically, you would have been required to load the reservation, and subsequently switch your guests from one time slot to the next, then commit your changes.  Easy, simple, and quick — but we just made it even easier and faster!

There is a new icon ( ) on the time slot scheduling screen.  This icon, allows you to drag a reservation from one time slot to another within the same activity, on the same day.

With this change, all that can be done by simply dragging and dropping your guest from one time slot to the next.  Zaui also will attach a history note, recording who made the change, when and what the original and new times are.

Pretty cool, huh?

This feature will be rolled out to your system over the coming weeks.

If your not using interval activities, or are not familiar with them, we suggest having a read in the help system on how these specific types of activities are used.  Quickly, however, a interval activity is one that runs throughout your day at defined times, with a defined inventory.  Examples are Ziplines, Bungy or even some airport shuttles – where your activity might start a 9 am and run until 5 pm, every 45 mins with an inventory of 10 spots.

The time slot screen, is the enter day schedule for a single interval activity.  It allows your guest service staff, or reservations staff to have a overview of the entire day for a single activity (different then the manifest, since you can pull manifests for each time slot).

At any rate, were making editing of guests in time slots on this screen and moving them from time to time much simpiler and easy.

Soon you will be able to “drag and drop” existing guests from one time slot to another.
